When invited to a party in ‘the Valley’ I think twice, much as I did when I was a dowtown New York girl invited to a party in the Upper East Side, because it’s a bit of a schlep. When invited to a party ‘in the Valley’ that’s taking place at an Outback Steakhouse, I debate even longer. So was the dilemma when NBC’s Australian-adapted sitcom ‘Kath & Kim’ hosted their premiere party last week. In the end, the lure of a single night sitting on my couch won out and I missed the fete, but sources on the scene reported back that Selma Blair (who plays Kim opposite Molly Shannon's Kath), talked more than a little about the weight she had to gain for the role.

At the Outback Steakhouse – home of the French fries smothered in melted cheese and ranch dressing aka the 2900 calorie appetizer Men’s Health editor-in-chief David Zinczenko deemed the worst food served in a restaurant, anywhere, ever, aka a food I’ve eaten and liked – until I read that - Selma talked about how she struggled with having to gain weight (about 10/15 pounds on her normally lithe frame) for the role. She said her often had trouble with her character's wardrobe because she was forced to squeeze into some very tight-fitting clothes.  She admitted, "I'd have lacerations on my body from the shorts being so tight.  They'd yell 'Cut!' and people would come over with a bathrobe because I was so embarrassed about the flab rolling over."  At the Skyy Vodka-hosted celebration Selma was also heard saying one of her friends recently said to her, "Oh my, that PROSTHETIC is amazing," and she replied, "Umm, that's not a prosthetic, that's my belly."  Adding salt in the wound, co-star Mikey Day added that Selma frequently has to puff out her stomach so far that it's almost like she's on "baby bump watch." Ouch. Hope the role is worth it! See for yourself when it airs tonight at 8:30pm on NBC.

Drinking and Detoxing...
Susie and Lupe. In a week where Hollywood Chihuahua did so well at the box office, figured this photo was appropriate...

If you’ve ever seen “In Her Shoes” with Cameron Diaz, then you have an idea of the life I’m living this week – and loving (for the few day I'm here anyway). I’m in Ft. Lauderdale spending a some time with grandma, reading, running, sunning, relaxing and being force-fed too much of her cooking (and trying to learn a bit), but otherwise detoxing from a few days that preceded in Miami.
I initially flew to Florida last weekend for the grand opening of Cabana One, a new rooftop day-to-night venue that crowns the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove. The first night we were there my friends and I indulged in cocktails combining Lucid Absinthe and Rose’s Mojito  Mix – a subtle fruit flavor in place of a sugar cube and water to take the edge off the exhoritantly high proof absinthe.

Sopranos stars Jamie Lynn Sigler and Rober Iler reunited at the party, Gabrielle Union brought her friend Corinne Kaplan, who incidentally happens to be on the current season of Survivor (and kicking butt), I caught up with the gorgeous Susie Castillo and her husand Matt and finally met one of their children, Oscar, (a chihuahua) but Lupe (their other chihuahua) was more of a homebody and stayed in their suite most of the weekend.  Chris Evans was said to ‘be hooking up with Kristin Cavallari’ but I'm betting that was a false rumor since I saw one or both of them in the wee hours of the morning both nights of the weekend, Not together, so pretty sure that didn’t happen.

Saturday night the soiree was rained out but since I was all dressed up in a new Tricia Fix frock with matching ostrich feather headband that Tricia personally made me that day in her design studio (aka fab Miami loft), after we hit Michy’s for dinner I stayed out and went by Mokai before stopping into SET Nightclub and making a mad dash back to the Mayfair where we drank in the lobby bar until Sunday morning.

Brangelina’s Kid-Free Night Out

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leave their six tots with nannies during the New York Film Festival premiere of Changeling held at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theater. Since it’s parents’ night out, Brad gets frisky in front of photographers, resting his hand on Angelina’s backside. Cheeky!

The mystery, which is in theaters October 31, places Brad’s babe in the role of a mother whose son is kidnapped. Scary!

“I’m off tonight,” Brad tells me as he waves on his way into the theater. The handsome dad lets Angelina bask in the spotlight solo during her first public appearance since giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July.

And here comes supermom Angelina, who thanks me for telling her she looks amazing when I ask her the secret to losing the baby weight. No surprise -- she is so beautiful in person. Otherworldly! But she’s also very friendly, open and relatable. Indeed, she’s much more glammed up tonight than she was last year during interviews for A Mighty Heart. Stunning! After my joyous experience with Jennifer Aniston, I must say: Brad can pick ‘em!

What was it like for this mom-of-the-year to play a role in which her son is kidnapped?

“The reason I didn’t want to do the film for a long time when I read it was that I wanted to keep it as far away from me as possible,” Angelina says. “Everyday that I came home, I was so clingy to my kids. I think I bugged them. I was grabbing them and checking them in the middle of the night. It scared me.”

Clint Eastwood calls Angelina a “terrific” actress, and Michael Kelly calls Oscar buzz for Angelina in this role “well-deserved.”

What surprised costar and 2008 Oscar nominee Amy Ryan about Angelina?

“She is very present, very gracious and open and can talk to everybody and anybody,” Amy tells me. “That’s a beautiful quality – to be present.”

Since this film is about kidnapping, what celeb would Sarah Paulson most want to kidnap her?

Ellen DeGeneres,” Sarah tells me. “I feel like while she was torturing me, she’d make me laugh. There’s nothing better in life than laughing. She’d maybe dance goofily or greatly, whatever it is that she does.”

Changeling is in theaters October 31.

And check out the OK! on newsstands now for Angelina's secret to losing the baby weight. Jamie Lynn Spears/“Casey Breaks His Silence … ‘I’m No Cheater’” is the cover line, and the premiere story “Brad Loves Angie’s New Curves” is a cover chip. Woo-hoo!

Taylor Swift ‘Felt Bad’ For Her Glasses

Taylor Swift is on the road with Rascal Flatts, and she certainly rides in style on her tour bus, which cost nearly $1 million.

“My biggest splurge was my tour bus,” she tells me. “I got a custom-made tour bus with a fireplace, a pull-down treadmill, all kinds of cool stuff. It’s got hardwood floors, it’s a really cool bus.”

She’s no diva, though.

“I don’t really spend that much money except for putting money back into my career with tour buses, or treating my band right, or treating my career right. I want everybody on my team to be happy.”

The 18-year-old star can’t get enough of Starbucks iced-caramel lattes when she’s on the road. And don’t forget the water bottles!

What’s something we don’t know about her?

“I wear glasses,” Taylor tells me. “Pretty much when I don’t have pictures taken or whenever I’m not on stage, whenever I’m in my downtime, I have glasses on. I have two pairs. I have one pair that’s purple. They’re pointed at the edges and they’re thin. Then I have a pair of glasses that are really, really wide, bifocally-looking glasses that no one recognizes me when I wear. They’re the pair of glasses that nobody was going to buy. They were really dusty and nobody wanted them. I felt bad for them, and I wear them everywhere. I bought them and I gave them a nice home. I love them.”

And, what’s her most embarrassing moment onstage?

“This one time I had a bug land on my face, and I was on a Jumbotron. I had a camera on my face, and the crowd could see this giant bug. We were playing an ampitheater, and there was this enormous bug on my face. There’s this horrifying moment when the crowd starts laughing, and you’re wondering what’s so funny, and that turns to embarrassment. And then you’re wondering what’s embarrassing that’s happening to you. And you’re looking around, you look at the screen and you see that there’s a giant bug on your face. It was classic.”
