Wow! This has been the busiest week I’ve had in a while. I arrived in Wilmington, N.Car., late last Saturday and have been going ever since.
It’s really exciting filming my first movie. It’s a completely different experience than anything I’ve ever done before — longer days for a much smaller amount of scenes. We usually shoot about 5-6 pages a day and that has been averaging about 12 hours a day!
The cast and crew of Port City are really great though and a lot of fun to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun experience.
Cody and Zoie came with me too, of course! They’ve been getting to spend a lot of good “baby & daddy” time together while I’m at work. I have this weekend off, so we are planning on heading out to tour around and do some touristy things.
We went to Wrightsville Beach yesterday for lunch on the water. The beaches are totally different here than in California!
I can’t believe we’ve been here for a week already. With only one more week of filming, it’ll go by quickly. I definitely miss home!
Well, this has been an incredibly busy week!
Cody and I went to several events this weekend including the Teen Choice Awards Pre-Party, the Maxim X Games party and The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget. All the while, trying to pack and get ready to take off for our trip to North Carolina.
It was a lot of fun though, the most enjoyable was probably Bob’s roast since I got to see several of the Full House cast members. Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, Scott Weinger and of course Bob were all in attendance.
It was a hilarious show! Definitely not kid friendly though, but for all the adults out there I think it’s a must see. I think it airs on August 17th on Comedy Central. They weren’t too mean to most of the people on the show, although the Olsen Twins did get quite a few jokes made at their expense. At times they went a bit far and were mean to them, but I guess that’s to be expected at a roast. No one is safe!
Then yesterday and today has been consumed with packing. You don’t realize how much stuff two people and a baby need for a few weeks until you have to fit it into your car! But we stuffed it all in and Cody drove off this afternoon — To be a fly on the wall in that car all the way across country!! Ha! He’s driving because he’s never flown before and is scared… We’ll have to work on that.
More exciting Zoie news, she’s getting her first two teeth! I can’t believe it! Of course, now she’s pretty fussy all the time and I’m sort of dreading having to fly with her. I think we’ll survive it though! I just have to hope she sleeps the whole way.
I’m getting more and more nervous about the movie, but it should go great. It’s a fun script and there are some really nice people working on the project. So now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that Zoie, Cody and I have safe, easy travels and by this time next week we’ll be in North Carolina!
If you're looking for a great movie to go see this summer, see Swing Vote!
Cody and I got to go to the premiere last week and it was really good. We were laughing though, since this is only the second movie we've ever seen in a theater together!
It was held at the El Capitan Theater in L.A. and it was huge! When we arrived, we got there right behind Kevin Costner. That was amazing!
There was a ton of press there, which can sometimes be a little intimidating, but it was fun to go to such a big event. When the film was finished, everyone was escorted across the street to the afterparty.
There were so many big names there, I have to admit, I was a bit starstruck! Kevin Costner, Nathan Lane, Dennis Hopper and Kelsey Grammer just to name a few.
One of the people there I was really excited to meet was Quentin Tarantino! Cody and I got a picture with him. He was so nice and talked to us for a minute.

Then the little girl who starred in the movie, Madeline Carroll, came walking by. She was fabulous! I told her what a great job she did in the film and as we were talking, she recognized me. She started jumping up and down and said she watches Full House every day!

IThen on Friday, we went to a great event hosted by Carson Kressley of How to Look Good Naked. I've always thought he was so funny!
So, this past week was full of really exciting things. Now, the countdown is on for our trip to NC!

So this weekend, Zoie and Mommy had a day out together!
We went to a baby shower in L.A. hosted by Karina Smirnoff from Dancing With the Stars. It was a really beautiful day and Zoie looked absolutely adorable! I’m an idiot though and forgot the camera at home. I always seem to do that.
But the most fun was the “onesie” decorating contest they had. We used Zoie as our model for our group, but once we got it on and painted a super cute yellow “bikini” onto it, we realized we didn’t think of how to get it off of her!
So she strutted down the catwalk (ok, so I really just held her up and touched her feet to the ground) then we rolled the onesie off of her. After that, she was not particularly happy and it was our cue to leave!
Then Cody and I dropped her off at a friends for babysitting and headed over to another event supporting the L.A. Police Protective League. By the end of the night though, we were exhausted!
I saw a picture from the event though and I looked skinny! Yay!
I’ve been working my butt off (literally) the past week and haven’t missed a day of exercise. I have two more weeks before the movie starts and want to be in great shape.
I also finally ended my rebellion against MySpace and set up an official page. I realized there were so many people on there claiming to be me, that I should ACTUALLY have one. So, I’m trying to figure out how it works still. But I think I have the ‘add friends’ thing down! Now, I just need to add a little more of the creative page stuff. It should be fun!
